2nd run - Course 3, Lesson 3-4

This is the 2nd time that I will be going through this course. My plan is to keep going over this course until everything just flows from my mouth.

The first time through the course, I listened to each 1/2 hour lesson 3-4 times. It took me 6 weeks to go through each course. 18 weeks, 4.5 months

This time, I will be going a bit faster my plan is to do 10 lessons/week. 3 weeks for each course. 9 weeks, 2.5 months.

3rd time, I will be going much faster. My plan is to do 4 lessons/day, 20 lessons/week. 1.5 weeks for each course. 4.5 weeks, 1 month

4th time, 1 month. ==> Total 9 months. This is to achieve fluency with the material in the tape.

I still have to go live in Brasil for at least 3 months and interract with a lot of people, all the time in PT.

Intermediate Done

Finished with the Intermediate course today. Will start on the advanced tomorrow.

BrPR2 Lesson 25

I'm now going on to Lesson 25 today. I will finish up the intermediate courses at the end of this week. For the semi-Portuguese below I did not use any translators or dictionaries.

Purpose - What I Want & When

This is what I want to accomplish by learning Portuguese.

Basic - Lesson 17

Success:
I'm very excited because I can see the improvements that I'm making. I listen to each lesson 3-4 times to make sure that I get it. I usually don't get everything on the first listen. It usually takes going over the lesson 3 times before I get really comfortable with it. I'm at lesson 17 which is more than half-way into the basic Portuguese course. My goal is to be fluent by summer. I will spend 6 weeks on each level - 5 lessons/week.

Lennox & Marco are in Brazil now. They went to Porto Seguro. I can't wait to hear from them about how the place is and what they're doing there.

Challenge:
When I get a native speaker, I get a bit more nervous and worry about things like pronunciation and whether I'm saying it right. I did well with Fabrisia the last time because I slowed her down and tried to get her to tell me what she wanted slowly. It did help that she called me back 4 times.
During each of the lessons I sometimes have that doubt creep up on me. If it lingers too long, I learn and absorb less. I am gaining some confidence in hearing the doubts and moving past them. I need this practice since I'll be doing a lot of this in Biz.
